I evolve complex systems into digital experiences that scale.

Overview

Nearly fourteen years of product design, most of it where the stakes are high and the workflows are messy: B2B SaaS platforms serving millions of small businesses, and AI healthcare products where the outcomes are clinical.

I've led design teams at SharpSpring and Constant Contact, going head-to-head with HubSpot in marketing automation, and stayed hands-on the whole time. Most recently, with Lace Pro, I helped transform auditory training from an afterthought into the standard of care in over 1,000 audiology clinics.

I design systems end-to-end, from concept to execution, at speed. Systems that give teams a shared direction, move users toward the right behavior, and don't fall apart when the product scales.

Complex domains are complicated by default. My job is to make the experience feel otherwise: whether that's an agency managing fifty client campaigns or a patient finishing a twelve-week program.

I've done the work across the stack: print, marketing, UI/UX, and enough front-end engineering to ship my own tools. In my free time I explore my passion for music and visual arts.

Technology should elevate people. That's the work.

Familiar Voice: personalization at scale in a regulated healthcare platform

Personalization improves clinical outcomes. Manual recording doesn't scale. I led the design of an AI voice cloning workflow that resolved both, becoming a primary market differentiator for Lace Pro.

Evolution

0→1: Legacy LACE to Lace Pro

Legacy LACE had no AI roadmap, no scalability, and a fixed content library. I led the 0→1 redesign into Lace Pro, from strategy to clinical validation, in under a year.

Training Map & Streaks: post-launch habit architecture

Patients needed 250+ exercises to reach clinical benefit. Most stopped before week two. I led the design of a behavioral retention system adapted from high-engagement consumer apps and tuned for a regulated healthcare context.

0→1 Launch: a provider-prescribed tinnitus therapeutic

No existing product to reference. A patient population that's anxious, often older, and burned out on solutions that didn't work. I led the design of Tinnitus Pro from scratch: guided sound therapy and behavioral support prescribed by audiologists and managed at home by patients.

Mobile Ordering PWA: a coffee shop's own ordering flow built directly on Square

Square's own online ordering is either a generic storefront template or locked behind a higher plan. I built a mobile-first ordering PWA directly on Square's Catalog, Orders, and Payments APIs, browse, customize, and pay for pickup, matching the shop's actual brand and its slower afternoon traffic pattern instead of a rush-hour template.

Browser Audio Tool: step-sequencer metronome and recording studio

A browser-based musician's tool I built for myself: record audio takes with a precision step-sequencer metronome running alongside, review your waveform, save named presets for different songs, and build a local library of recordings. No server. No sign-in. No installs.

Scalable Sales Enablement: PDF generation from structured content

Neurotone's sales team needed a growing library of clinic-specific case studies, each looking custom-made. I built a Node.js + Puppeteer system that generates print-ready 6-page PDFs from a single content file, zero manual layout, under 30 seconds to rebuild the full library.

Partner Learning Platform: three-tier certification, zero infrastructure cost

Lace Pro's partner program needed a real certification experience, not another PDF. I designed and built a full-stack Next.js platform with progressive tier gating, sequential lesson locks, inline quizzes, and final assessments, with all state in localStorage and zero backend infrastructure.

B2B SaaS

Nine years leading design in B2B SaaS

Before Neurotone, I led UX at SharpSpring, a marketing automation platform serving thousands of agencies and SMBs, and managed product design at Constant Contact, one of the largest email marketing platforms in the world. At both, I ran 4 to 5 person design teams while staying hands-on as an IC. That work shaped how I think about complex workflow UX, multi-stakeholder products, and designing for users who live inside software all day.

Earlier UX and product design work from that period lives on my Behance profile.

Testimonials

I've had the privilege of working with Dru at both SharpSpring and Neurotone, and I can tell you: he's the design leader you want when the stakes are high and the problem is hard. At SharpSpring he led UX across a complex marketing automation platform. At Neurotone, he translated clinical research into an AI-powered digital health product, owning product design end-to-end. In both cases he brought the same thing: genuine range across UX, design systems, and engineering collaboration, paired with an ego-free approach that makes teams better. Dru knows when to lead and when to support, and he reads that instinctively. In complex, high-stakes product environments, that kind of judgment is as valuable as any technical skill. If you're building a serious product design team, Dru is someone you build around.
Shane Bouchard, Worked with Dru at SharpSpring and Neurotone
I've had the chance to work closely with Dru at both SharpSpring and Neurotone, and he's one of those designers who really thinks like a product person. He doesn't just focus on the UI; he's always thinking about the bigger picture and how design decisions impact the product, the users, and the business. At Neurotone we worked together during the evolution of Lace Pro, where Dru played an important role in helping shape the experience as the platform grew into a scalable, AI-driven product used by over 1,000 clinics. He has a great ability to translate complex ideas into intuitive experiences, especially in a space like healthcare where there are a lot of constraints and moving parts. What I appreciate most about Dru is that he works well across teams. He collaborates easily with engineering, product, marketing, and leadership, and keeps everyone focused on building something that actually solves real problems for users. He's thoughtful about systems, not just screens, and that mindset has made a real difference in the products we've built together.
